Biography :
Tatang Muttaqin, S.Sos., M.Ed., Ph.D is the Director General of Vocational Education, Special Education, and Special Services Education at the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education of the Republic of Indonesia. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication Management from Universitas Padjadjaran, a master’s degree in Education Studies from Curtin University of Technology, Australia, and a PhD in Sociology from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands.
Dr. Muttaqin has extensive experience in education policy, governance, and human capital development. Prior to his current appointment, he served as Acting Director General of Vocational Education at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, Senior Advisor to the Minister for Talent Management, Director of Higher Education and Science and Technology at the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), and Head of the Secretariat of Open Government Indonesia. His leadership reflects a strong commitment to advancing inclusive, high-quality vocational and special education in support of Indonesia’s national development goals.
